Aeoliphone - Messiaen’s, Des Canyons aux Étoiles
Timoth Weiss and the Oberlin Orchestra commissioned me to build two functional replicas of Aeoliphone's for a performance of Olivier Messiaen's Des Canyons aux Étoiles. Each was made with canvas and wood, with speed and tension player adjustable to achieve quick and sustained modulations to the wind timbre.
